Sandlot

ALLSTARS Sandlot baseball/softball is a program designed to provide a fun and exciting environment for kids to play indoor baseball and softball. It is a structured program for players between 6 and 13 years old. The games will take place on our 17,500 sq ft field and will be officiated by Academy staff but coached by the players. The kids will organize themselves and rotate positions every inning as Academy staff supervises and umpires the games.

THE TEAMS:

Each team can have a minimum of 7 players and maximum of 9 on their roster. Rosters can be filled with your friends or individuals and small groups will be partnered with others to create a team. There will be 3 Divisions of Sand Lot:

6 & 7 year olds
8 & 9 year olds
10 to 13 year olds

THE GAMES:

The games themselves will be timed (1 hour) not played in a 6 inning format. This will keep the pace of play fast and each inning exciting. A conventional 3 out format will be followed as well as “sand lot” rules introduced. The Academy staff member will throw each pitch using a special indoor ball designed for safety. There will be no walking in order to help create an “offensive” environment! All players present will play a defensive position with the catcher standing off to the side away from the hitter. The games being played by the 6 & 7 year old division will have 2 Academy staff members assigned to each game. They will take an extremely active role as coaches to ensure all the players have a fun and exciting experience each week.

THE SCHEDULE:

Sand Lot will be played on: Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s with games starting at 5:30pm / 6:30pm / 7:30pm. Saturday’s with games starting at – 3pm to 8 pm. Sundays 9 am - 3 pm. The Sand Lot Season will be 9 weeks long, with each team playing 8 games beginning October 17th through December 11th.

REGISTRATION & TUITION

You can fill a roster with all your friends or be placed on a team to create a full roster (7 players min./9 max.). Download and complete the roster form (registration form only or Sandlot pamphlet) and send it back to All Stars. All players will receive a Sand Lot tee shirt. The cost per player will be $85 which can be paid at the first game.
