Leo is entering his 8th year as a hitting instructor with AllStars. After a storied career (All Conference, All Area, All State and NYS Player of the Week Honors) at Columbia High School, he continued playing collegiately first at Monmouth and finally at the State University at Albany. At Albany he was an All Conference outfielder and an integral part of their success during the NCAA Regional Tournament run. In 2009, Leo was named the America East Tournament MVP. Leo’s success on the diamond continued in the Albany Twilight League when he was named Rookie of the Year after winning the batting title. He went on to be named to 4 All Star teams.
Leo took our son from a average Babe Ruth player to the next level of power hitting and playing. He made him feel like he could do it.
But the most important thing he has instilled in our son is competitive drive and confidence in playing the game. Along with mechanics comes strong communication on strength training, nutrition, healing soreness and most important what his attitude should be on the field. Great advice like DWAB – don’t waste an at bat. And as my husband has said “he went from a whiffer to wacker with Leo.”
